COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course teaches police administrators, police supervisors, and police training officers how to prepare for, respond to, and investigate an officer involved deadly force encounter. Attendees will gain an understanding of use of deadly force law, how to use policy and training to prepare for deadly force incidents, the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved in a deadly force incidents, and how to properly investigate a use of deadly force by an officer both criminally and internally.
